Goal:
Obtain medical supply donations from the south OP community for The University of Kansas Health System and Children’s Mercy Hospital. This is an attempt to boost the already low levels of personal protection equipment for OUR health care workers.
Items needed:
Per KU and CMH, they are requesting:
- Unused N95 masks
- Unopened surgical masks
- Unopened hand sanitizer
- Unopened soap (liquid or bar)
Logistics for drop off:
- Blue Valley schools is NOT sponsoring this endeavor, but has granted permission to use the Hilltop Campus parking lot. (just west of 143rd and Metcalf) It would allow community members to drive into the parking area, follow signs, and drop off their items at labeled stations in the parking lot. Exact address is: 7700 W 143rd St, Overland Park, KS 66223
- SOCIAL DISTANCING IS IMPORTANT. As such, each person would:
- Get out of their vehicle and set down their donation at the labeled station.
- Maintain 6 feet from others at all times.
- Climb back in their car and drive away.
- We would not be passing items from person to person.
- A small number of members from the KUMC hospital supply chain and Children's Mercy supply chain will be present from 12pm - 2pm. They are there to simply point where your donation goes. Please do NOT hand them your items. At 2:00pm, donations will close and they will take the supplies back to their medical centers.
- This event was approved by the Deputy County Manager for Johnson County and the Mayor of Overland Park. As such, it should not cause a conflict with the "stay at home" order. Please do exercise social distancing and return home once you have dropped off your items.

PLEASE THANK (via a wave) the amazing men and women of the supply chain division for The University of Kansas Health System and Children's Mercy Hospitals and Clinics for monitoring the items as you drop them off...and making this event happen. They are supporting our care givers!
